CATHERINE HERSACHER, President & Interior Design Principal

In 2012, with thirteen years of design experience behind her, Catherine Hersacher founded Bespoke Fine Interiors in Aiken, South Carolina. Having worked for some of the top firms in the country in the high-end residential and ultra-exclusive hospitality sectors of the industry, Catherine made the move to go out on her own and offer truly custom design services to clients locally and nationwide. The decision to be in Aiken, SC was based on finding a balance to do what she loves, horses and design. The small southern town of Aiken supports both incredibly well.  In a very short period of time, Catherine has developed Bespoke into a brand that signifies one of a kind, curated interiors for a broad range of styles and tastes.

Catherine’s education makes her truly unique in the design industry.  She holds an Associates Degree in Interior Design, a pre-professional Architecture Degree and a Masters Degree in Industrial Design.  This background coupled with the extensive experience she gained in all of her past firms, allows her to bring a sophisticated, “big design firm” approach to all of her projects. She values relationships with her clients above all and strives to make their projects speak if the owners, not the designer.

Prior to settling in Aiken, Ms. Hersacher gained invaluable knowledge in the luxury residential design field while working in Palm Beach, Florida. From kitchen design and hard finish selection to construction consultation and decoration, she completed projects with multi-million dollar budgets, including several spec homes for a customer builder.

After leaving Florida to return to the Northeast, Ms. Hersacher joined an exclusive hospitality design firm as an interior designer and specifications manager. Many of the projects were five-star and boutique properties, including hotels, clubhouses, residential towers and conference centers. These projects were located around the globe. Ms. Hersacher became part of the Asia team and was sent often to present and conduct site visits in China and Hong Kong.

With this worldly exposure and background, Ms. Hersacher is able to achieve a design for any project that is cogent with her client’s tastes and context.

KATHARINE HANES, Associate Designer

Katharine Hanes is originally from Atlanta, GA and after graduating from the University of Georgia she began her interior design career working for a small real estate development and construction company in Madison, Georgia. In this position she was able to pursue her passion for interpreting and executing a vision while preserving the historic community. Working closely with the development team and the contractors, she gained valuable experience of project management, efficiency, and an appreciation of a project in its entirety.

A relocation to Starkville, MS allowed Katharine to garner a wide variety of professional experiences from working with another real estate development company, starting her own freelance design business, and then transitioning to the retail industry of design for a period of five years, which augments her design implementation portfolio.

While in Mississippi and pregnant with her second child, Katharine left the design field for a period of five years to fulfill another of her passions - serving children in a nonprofit Christian children’s home in a marketing position. It was this job that led her back to Georgia as an account executive with a marketing firm. Katharine moved to Augusta with her two children in 2016 to be in the same city as her parents and her sister’s family.

Finally back in Georgia and in a thriving city, Katharine was able to return to the interior design field and joined the interiors studio of an architecture firm for two years where she served as design support on commercial new construction, restaurant, hospitality and residential projects.

Katharine has over twelve years of design experience in addition to her internships in Park City, Utah and at a showroom in the Atlanta Decorative Arts Center. She is currently an active associate member of the International Interior Design Association and plans to sit for the NCIDQ exam with the goal to become a registered interior designer.

MILISA PEACHEY, Assistant Designer

After working in the U.S. Air Force for over a decade, Milisa decided a career change was needed and returned to school where she earned an Associate Degree in Interior Design. The communication and problem-solving skills she learned in the military facilitated her quick growth and desire to excel in her new profession. Originally from CA, Milisa and her husband bought a vintage farm in Williston, SC and set out to start a family homestead and working farm. Her desire to use her talent for Interior Design led her to Bespoke.  She’s been a part of the team, in a part time capacity, since 2017.

Milisa’s passion for people and desire to create beautiful spaces has fostered a design philosophy that allows her to create spaces that are tailored and refined to meet each client’s wishes and needs. Milisa believes that your home should be a direct reflection of your life, and you should love the space in which you live!

JULIE DULAC, Design Coordinator

Julie, and her husband, while travelling on business stopped in to visit Aiken SC.  They fell in love with the weather, the hospitality, and the quaint town. In 2019, after living in NH for most of their lives, they, along with daughter, son in law, granddaughter, 5 horses, 3 barn cats and 2 dogs, moved to Aiken and created their new homestead, “Three Generations Farm”.

Early in life, Julie gained much knowledge of fabrics and sewing from her mother who was amazingly talented at making things.  She passed this knowledge on to her two daughters.  They spent many hours learning and doing and doing again, as their mother was a perfectionist. The plan was to get a formal education in fashion design, interior design and architecture however life took her on a different path.

Julie and her husband owned and operated a Mechanical (plumbing & heating) contracting business, servicing both residential and commercial.  Julie was responsible for managing everything on the business side of things.  They were also involved in many real estate rehab projects, most of which Julie was the head of.

Now many years later, life makes a full circle and brings Julie to Bespoke.  Although Julie works part time hours, allowing her time to enjoy her horses, she is a full-time asset to our team as our resident “perfectionist”.  Her background melds perfectly with her role as Design Coordinator for our company.
